Ethics & Professional Conduct

Honoring the Practice. Respecting the Individual.

At Yoga Breath Life, my work is guided by a commitment to the safety, dignity, and empowerment of every student. Because my practice bridges ancient tradition with modern somatic science, I adhere to a rigorous ethical framework that ensures a secure environment for healing and growth.

1. Cultural Integrity & Stewardship

I recognize yoga as a 5,000-year-old tradition with roots in the Indus Valley.

  • Authenticity: I commit to sharing the history of Harappa and Taxila with accuracy and respect, avoiding the commercialization or "whitewashing" of these sacred origins.

  • Lineage: I honor the teachers and ancestors who preserved these practices, teaching from a place of humility rather than ownership.

2. Trauma-Informed Safety (Ahimsa)

The principle of Ahimsa (Non-harming) is the foundation of my somatic work.

  • Nervous System Regulation: I prioritize the stability of your nervous system over the "perfection" of a pose.

  • Choice-Based Practice: You are the authority on your own body. I provide options and "invitations" rather than commands, allowing you to opt-out of any movement or breathwork that feels unsafe.

  • No Hands-On Adjustments: To maintain a safe somatic container, I do not use physical touch or manual adjustments without explicit, prior, and ongoing consent.

3. Professional Scope of Practice

While somatic breathwork and yoga are powerful tools for wellness, they are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.

  • Boundaries: I am a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 and a Certified Breathwork Facilitator. I am not a licensed therapist or medical doctor.

  • Referrals: If a student’s needs exceed my scope of practice, I commit to providing professional referrals to appropriate healthcare providers.

4. Inclusion & Equity

The "Vatican of the East" at Taxila was a place of international learning for all seekers. I carry that spirit forward.

  • Non-Discrimination: Yoga Breath Life is an inclusive space. I welcome all bodies, regardless of race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or physical ability.

  • Accessibility: I strive to make the benefits of breathwork and yoga accessible through varied pricing models or community offerings when possible.

5. Confidentiality & Privacy

The journey of somatic release can be deeply personal.

  • Sacred Space: Anything shared within the context of a private session or a group circle remains strictly confidential.

  • Digital Privacy: I protect your personal data and will never share your information with third parties without your consent.

Our Commitment to You

I hold myself accountable to these standards to ensure that Yoga Breath Life remains a sanctuary of integrity. If you ever have questions or concerns about the ethical conduct of our sessions, I invite open, honest communication.

"True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life."
